Bahrain Fort

I visited the Bahrain Fort, on the northern shore of the island, on Saturday. Here are some pics. Again, I REALLY wish I could have taken pictures of the exhibits at the Beit Al Qu'ran... there is some truly amazing stuff there. If you ever happen to find yourself in Bahrain for some reason, I highly recommend it. Heck, I highly recommend visiting. This island ain't half bad when it's not unbearably hot. On to the pictures...

Bahrain Fort entrance, an arched passageway inside, and some ancient ruins from 2200 BC just outside the fort's walls. The ruins are among the oldest in the region. The fort is the third on that location and was built in the (15th? 16th?) century by the Portuguese during their occupation of the island.

Oh, and in other news, I had Fuddrucker's last night. At the Seef Mall, so Chan'ad's anonymous poster can rest easy knowing that I wasn't one of the American sailors sticking out like a sore thumb at the one in Adliya. :)
